If you could pick any TV show that has been off the air to come back for one more season, which show would you pick and why?

Firefly!! Never should've been cancelled. Serenity was a great finish but 14 hours of Firefly > 2 hours of BDM.
Or Mystery Science Theater 3000. That could have gone forever and I've seen all the good episodes now. Want moar!

List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, how old they are, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.

Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over [just a beautiful song]

Queen - Seaside Rendezvous [I have a cycle of which song from 'A Night of the Opera' I am obsessed with at any one point in time... this was on the rotation]

The Beatles - Yesterday [I learnt a pretty freakin' sweet piano solo version of this song, but it doesn't even come close to the simple beauty of the original]

Belle & Sebastian - The Blues Are Still Blue [this song makes me want to dance, or at least bop me head. The reason this is so amazing is because I do not dance]

Elliot Smith - Miss Misery [okay, this is the third sad/soppy/depressing song on my list! What's going on here??]

The Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies) [this is one of them songs that those darn indie kids of today are into, aint it? Either way, it's good listening]

Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall [I'm way too young to even have heard this song or to listen to it heaps - at least that's what my parents say]

Errr... I don't have any friends to tag. HA!! Well, [info]crusader_charly , I guess. Okay, if you have somehow gotten sidetracked to this place and are reading this, consider yourself tagged. Oh, and add me. I need more friends. Haha.

Book start time: 2:47pm
Book finish time: 11:53pm

That's 9 hours and 6 minutes of... well, I mean how do you describe it?
I know some people are cynical about the Potter phenomenon, but after reading the seventh book, I think anyone would be converted.
I promise not to give anything spoiler-y away, but if you're reading this, have the book and haven't finished it... like really, what's wrong with you? Read!!
I think I can honestly say that this is the best book JK Rowling has written. While all the Harry Potter books have their own distinct charms (har har) about them, I think this one has really outdone itself in terms of... well, everything!
Plotwise (don't worry, no spoilers!), this is one of the best efforts. In books like The Goblet of Fire, Chamber of Secrets, etc. you basically had your straight-forward plot with a bit of a twist at the end. With Deathly Hallows, this is not so! JKR kept me guessing throughout the whole book. Her narrative ranges from deeply emotional to fast-paced and suspenseful. Even with pages upon pages of no dialogue (which some readers can find dull after a while) I was still enthralled (so much so that I even forgot to watch Doctor Who. It was a sacrifice that had to be made). What will happen next? Is that really a good idea, Harry?
It was a pretty intense book, but that didn't mean that you couldn't laugh out loud at some of Ron's hilarious one-liners or smile at the courageous/affectionate/kind/generally cute displays of behaviour that may or may not occur between any number of non-descript characters. Not saying any more on that subject for fear of spoiler-y things.
And the ending. What to say about the ending. Well, nothing, because I don't want to give it away.
All in all, amazing ending from the amazing author of an amazing book.
That is all.

Weeell, not quite. Do NOT click on the cut if you don't want to ruin the ending for yourself.

I recently got into a bit of a debate with a friend. Evolution vs. creation, and I was arguing for evolution. I unashamedly stole this from Uncyclopedia.

Holy crap!!

Tripod's "Old Money" sounds a hell of a lot like Johann Sebastian Bach's "Air on the G String". Hmm... I wonder who copied off of who...

While I'm on a completely nerdy note... my new piano exam book has a beautiful piano arrangement of 'Yesterday' by The Beatles!!

Ok, that's enough nerdyness for the entire week.

Okay, I admit it. I like hands, and Rimmer happens to have particularly nice ones.

I made some animated ones, too (I'm only learning!) but they're all too big to fit an LJ icon (i.e. they're all over 40KB). Does anyone know how to compress them without losing too much of the quality??

Tomorrow is May 25th, which, in case you didn't know, is TOWEL DAY. Which, in case you didn't know, is the day where everyone carries a towel around in honour of Douglas Adams, who, in case you didn't know, wrote 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy', which, in case you didn't know, is the best book ever.
